The presentation of the 7th “Taxis in Italy” Report and the 2nd “Taxis in Europe – Europe vs Italy 2026” Report took place at the Chamber of Deputies, featuring opinion polls dedicated to the analysis of the taxi sector and user perception of the service. In addition to appTaxi president Stefano Salzani, speakers included Claudio Giudici (president of Uritaxi and TaxiMove), Mirco Venturelli (Vice President of Taxi Move), and Prof. Roberto Baldassari (curator of the survey); among the Honorable Members were Salvatore Deidda (Chairman of the Transport Commission, Chamber of Deputies), Elena Maccanti (Member of Parliament), Susanna Ceccardi (Member of the European Parliament), and Senator Maurizio Gasparri via telephone link.
The data
The research, conducted by Lab21 on a sample of over 2,200 interviews carried out in January 2026, was commissioned by Uritaxi, appTaxi, and Taxi Move with the aim of providing an updated snapshot of the relationship between citizens and the taxi service in Italy and within the European context.
The data reveals an overall positive picture: the satisfaction level of Italian users exceeds 85%, with particularly high results for vehicle comfort, ride safety, and travel speed. Wait times also rank among the fastest in Europe: nearly nine out of ten users receive a taxi within six minutes of their request.
The European comparison also highlights how the Italian taxi service achieves results above the continental average across several operational indicators, particularly travel speed, vehicle comfort, and service safety, confirming the strength of the organizational model based on radio-taxis and local cooperatives.
The outlook
The survey also highlights a significant finding regarding the future of mobility: over 70% of Italians state they would not use driverless taxis, indicating how much the human factor and the direct relationship with the driver continue to be seen as central elements of the service.
Speakers at the meeting included, among others, the national president of Uritaxi Claudio Giudici, the president of the appTaxi consortium Stefano Salzani, the vice president of the Taxi Move consortium Mirco Venturelli, and the general manager of Lab21 Roberto Baldassari, who illustrated the main results of the survey.
The presentation also served as an opportunity for discussion on urban mobility prospects and the technological evolution of the taxi sector.
