appTaxi – the mobility network

appTaxi is a consortium established in 2015 by the union of radio cab operators based in major Italian cities.
From the beginning, it has been proposed as a model of democratic mobility, with not only the customer and his or her needs at the center, but also the economic autonomy of the taxi driver.

Over the years, through focused and shared investment, knowledge interchange, and valuable synergies created, appTaxi has reached technological heights that individual radio cabs could not have achieved on their own.

The consortium develops and promotes:

Our Story

The significant milestones and achievements of our Network

2012 - appTaxi birth

appTaxi began as an aggregator of cab services and is initially present in 6 Italian cities.

2014 - appTaxi SCRL foundation

The appTaxi business unit becomes an independent company.

appTaxi expands its service to 19 Italian cities.

2015 - Payment in-app

appTaxi implements in-app payment by credit card in all cities.

2016 - Integrations, collaborations and fidelities

Collaborations and integrations with companies outside the cab industry begin:
Millemiglia , Italo Treno (Italo Più), American Express (PAYBACK).

2017 - Green Mobility

appTaxi constitutes the largest and greenest fleet in Italy with both hybrid and 100% electric vehicles.

2018 - Pay on the go

appTaxi enriches the service with a new payment solution.

2019

Artificial Intelligence

appTaxi, in partnership with Samsung Bixby, brings to life the first capsule for cab request via virtual assistant.

Chinese mini-app

appTaxi, in partnership with Value China, creates the first cab request mini-app on Alipay and Wechat platforms, completely in Chinese language.

Stroke estimation

appTaxi introduces the Ride Estimation feature: the app makes three different estimates based on detected traffic.

2020 - New payments methods

appTaxi increases the available payment methods-Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

2021- 2022 Growth and transformation

Network expands as new entities join: appTaxi surpasses 30 cities. appTaxi initiates a series of internal technical transformations aimed at improving services, the most important of all, the move to a new bank.

2023 - New appTaxi

After long and intensive work, the new appTaxi is released: new design, improved interface and user experience, new functions introduced, enhanced performances. appTaxi becomes even faster, easier and more accurate.
